With a long-standing tradition of over 100 years, Lanas trinidad is the main producer and exporter of scoured wool and combed wool tops in Uruguay. Its products are exported to the most demanding markets all over the world.
Understanding that quality is bred on the farms, Lanas Trinidad strongly supports local producers, helping them to incorporate valuable tools pertaining to animal welfare, the monitoring of pregnant ewes, genetic improvement, Tally Hi shearing system, SUL Green Label certification and polyethylene packaging, among others.
In addition, the company promotes the production of fine and super fine wool, encouraging those farmers who strive for excellence. Lanas Trinidad strongly believes that teamwork is key to achieving high-quality products which are globally competitive.
The company is rooted in old traditions, but embraces modern and dynamic work models. Lanas Trinidad is currently able to process 10 million kilograms of the highest quality scoured wool and combed wool tops, ranging from 16.5 to 32 microns.
100% of Lanas Trinidad’s wools are mulesing-free.
In the city of Durazno is the reception and classification center, called “La Barraca”, where the wool is carefully separated by fineness and type. “La Barraca” has a textile laboratory where it operates their tests for Determination of Average Fiber Diameter and Clean Base of Wool and Vegetable Matter (Rinde).
The process of scouring and combing is undertaken in the industrial plant located in the city of Trinidad.
Both scoured wool (NCM 51.01.2) and combed wool tops (NCM 51.05.2) comply with the highest quality standards, thanks to the highly-qualified personnel and the implementation of state-of-the-art technology.
The industrial plant has an Integrated Management System (view Integrated Policy) under ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management) and ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety Management) certified by LSQA with international recognition in IQNET and Quality Austria (OQS). The textile laboratory within the plant is Interwoollabs certified.
