This economic-productive model not only creates new raw materials from waste, transforming them into new products and generating additional revenue streams, but it also reduces environmental impacts, including carbon emissions, and generates new job opportunities.
At Lanas Trinidad, our journey into circular economy practices began in the early 1990s—a pioneering step at a time when these production practices were unknown to the wool industry. Initially, academic information on the subject was scarce, and we navigated a path by testing and learning, developing new practices and techniques. Through years of dedication and accumulated expertise, we have directed our actions towards a circular economy model, continuously refining and perfecting our approach to uphold this work philosophy.
Awards and Achievements
On World Environment Day, Lanas Trinidad was recognized with the Circular Economy Award 2019 by Uruguay, in the large companies category. The award was presented by ANDE (National Agency for Sustainable Development) and PAGE UN (Partnership for Action on Green Economy, a United Nations program).
It was the first time the award was presented in Uruguay and Latin America.
On June 4, 2021, Lanas Trinidad was recognized by the Ministry of Environment of Uruguay for its contribution to the protection and improvement of its environmental surroundings.

We are pleased to announce that Lanas Trinidad has been awarded the prestigious Sustainable Management Seal, granted by Uruguay's Technological Laboratory (LATU) and the Uruguayan Exporters Association (UEU), achieving level 4 (the highest level awarded this year) on a 5-level scale. This recognition affirms our unwavering commitment to sustainability and excellence in business management. We take pride in being recognized for our sustainable practices, which permeate our production processes and daily operations.
